Music First Partnership has expanded its team with the appointment of experienced Music Travel Manager, Cath Goldby.

Goldby has been appointed to manage music and entertainment tours across the UK, Europe and the world and will work closely with the rest of the Music First Partnership (MFP) team.

She brings with her more than 25 years’ of music touring experience and a breadth of industry knowledge and contacts, having worked on a range of high profile tours over the last three decades.

Prior to joining the MFP, Cath spent five years as a Senior Tour Specialist at TAG and more than 20 years with Rima Travel in several senior roles.

“I am really pleased to have joined the Music First Partnership team. It’s a cool, talented and exciting company so when the opportunity arose to be part of the team I jumped at it. MFP has been on my radar since its launch last year. Having worked with the founder Dan and several other team members in my previous role, I knew it would be a good fit. What’s special about MFP is that the team ‘gets’ touring and is passionate about going the extra mile to deliver successful tours and events. This has enabled them to build a strong track record and exciting client base in a short space of time,” Goldby said.

“One of the other important things that drew me to MFP was the company culture. It’s a small, close-knit team that genuinely cares about one another and each other’s successes. Working in a supportive environment like this is really fulfilling and helps motivate us to go above and beyond for our clients. In larger businesses it can be easy to get lost, so I’m happy to have joined a family-orientated, inclusive company.”

During her extensive career in music and entertainment touring, Goldby spent a significant amount of time on the road with musicians and their teams. This gave her valuable first-hand insight into touring and practical experience.

Goldby added: “My time hitting the road and travelling as part of a touring team helped me understand the day-to-day logistics of a tour. It taught me the most important things to consider and get right from late checkout to group travel requirements. The experience helped me develop my skills and has enabled me to deliver a better service for clients.”

The addition of Goldby is one of several strategic appointments the TMC has made since it was founded in January last year and underpins the team’s ambitious growth plans.

Music First Partnership founder, Dan Horton, explained: “We are pleased to announce that Cath has joined our team as Music Travel Manager. Her breadth of experience makes her a fantastic addition to our team. Cath has an excellent track record of supporting and delivering complex and exciting global tours and she’s really well regarded in our industry, so we are thrilled to have her on board. We have exciting plans to continue growing the team and taking on even more exciting tours and projects over the next year and we think Cath will be integral to that.”
