Production Futures CEO Hannah Eakins has been welcomed as an Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Live Technology (ALT). The award of the Fellowship coincides with Production Futures ten year anniversary and recognises Eakins’ contribution to developing the next generation of production industry talent, and helping to shape the future of the live events and creative industries.
As CEO of Production Futures, an industry-led initiative dedicated to creating access and opportunities for those pursuing careers in production, Eakins oversees a nationwide programme of live events and a thriving 24/7 online community. Working in partnership with world-leading partners, Production Futures helps to connect emerging talent with industry, bridging the gap between education and employment. Eakins was also instrumental in the creation of the Breakthrough Talent Awards, which celebrate and recognise outstanding production industry newcomers.
Students from the Academy of Live Technology have directly benefitted from Production Futures events on multiple occasions, taking advantage of opportunities to attend sessions delivered by representatives of industry-leading organisations. Several have gone on to win Breakthrough Talent awards themselves, simultaneously celebrating their achievements and helping their career progression.
Rachel Nicholson, Head of Institution at ALT, commented on the award of the Fellowship: “Hannah Eakins is a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion and employability, whose commitment to nurturing new talent has made a significant contribution to the live technology community. Through her work, she has helped champion the importance of ensuring that every young person has visibility of, and access to, the diverse creative and technical career opportunities that bring live experiences, stage, and screen to life.”
Nicholson added: “We are delighted to award Hannah this Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the industry and her dedication to supporting the next generation of practitioners. Her commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible industry reflects the values we champion at the Academy of Live Technology, and we are proud to recognise the lasting impact of her work in helping shape the future of live experience.”
