ADJ Group Remembers: José Mario

ADJ Group mourns loss of a valued colleague and treasured friend, José Mario Estrada.

ADJ Group says goodbye to a valued colleague and treasured friend, José Mario Estrada. Known to everyone as Mario, he was an important member of the ADJ México Sales Team whose warm smile, sociable personality and gracious nature will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Estrada contracted COVID-19 in April, was admitted to hospital and fought the virus valiantly, but sadly lost his battle the following month. He died on 12 May, the day after his 53rd birthday, and leaves behind a loving wife and son, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

“Mario shared with me many years in this industry,” remembered ADJ México General Manager, Abraham Levit. “Aside of being a co-worker, he was a good and loyal friend with whom I shared good times, extensive talks and trips. We will miss his dedication and that sense of humour in life, he will be missed forever! We extend our affection and condolences to his wife, son, family and friends.”

Having started his sales career working for the internationally renowned José Cuervo tequila brand, Mario joined the entertainment technology industry in 2000. Initially working for Mexican musical instrument retailer Veerkamp, he gained experience in both consumer retail and commercial integration before moving to work in manufacturer sales roles. In September of 2016, Mario joined the newly founded ADJ México, which was setup to develop sales and improve availability of ADJ Group products in Mexico and across Central America. Over the past five years, Mario contributed greatly to the success of ADJ in the region and developed many firm friendships with customers and colleagues alike.

“Mario loved life and never thought of leaving so young, he wanted to live many years,” said his beloved wife, Miriam Alvarado. “He loved his work, loved to meet and spend time with people, enjoyed traveling and making friends wherever he went. He was a very honest and loyal person, always looking to help people. He was very homey and was always fun to spend time with, he was like a child.”
