Move Your Lightshow Forward

ADJ has announced the immediate availability of its innovative new Par Z Move lighting fixture. Building on the success of the existing Par Z range of zooming pars powered by COB LEDs, the new model takes this concept to the next level by incorporating a moving head base.

The flexible fixture offers a unique combination of output and features that make it ideal for a wide variety of applications, including theatre productions, concert tours and installation in houses of worship. Offering pan and tilt ranges of 540-degrees and 200-degrees respectively, the Par Z Move’s beam can be quickly and easily altered to point in any desired direction. It features 16-bit pan and tilt refinement, for precise positioning as well as smooth movements, and also boasts variable motor speed to allow for easy creation of fast and energetic, as well as smooth and subtle, animated effects.

The Par Z Move features motorized zoom, which allows its beam angle to be remotely altered between an extremely narrow 9-degrees and a very wide 43-degrees. This means that it can be used for a variety of different purposes, including key lighting, moving beam effects and far-reaching stage washes. Despite this wide zoom range, the fixture’s impressive optics make for an even projection field, regardless of beam angle, with no central dark spot as can be the case on some par fixtures that are equipped with a zoom function.

Utilising an extremely powerful 200W warm white C.O.B. (Chip on Board) LED engine, the Par Z Move creates an intense output suitable for medium-to-large scale venues. It generates an incredible light intensity of 234,685 LUX @ 1m / 9,387 LUX @ 5m when fully zoomed in, which reduces to a still impressive 15,391 LUX @ 1m / 616 @ 5m when fully zoomed out.

The LED has a colour temperature of 3000K (warm white) and a CRI of 96, which makes it ideal for applications where video recording is required. A choice of six dimming curves are pre-programmed into the fixture – standard, stage, TV, architectural, theatre and stage 2 – which allow the unit to be tailored to any specific application. Fade Time can also be altered between 0.1 and 10 seconds on the unit itself, while 16-bit dimming allows for precise control and extremely smooth fades.

The large backlit display screen on the side of the unit makes both mode selection and DMX addressing extremely easy. The fixture offers a choice of three DMX control modes – 7, 9 and 11-channels – as well as a whole host of customizable settings including gamma adjustment, pan/tilt inversion and display brightness/inversion. It is also equipped with a USB port, which allows for quick and easy firmware updates, and is compatible with the RDM (Remote Device Management) protocol. The Par Z Move has dimensions of 12.5” x 8.6” x 17.63” / 306 x 218 x 448mm and weighs 25 lbs. / 11.3 kg. It can be used in any orientation and is fitted with large rubber feet that allow it to stand firmly on a stage, riser or plinth.

A pair of Omega brackets are also supplied in the box, which can be used to attach clamps for rigging to truss, overhead electrics or line sets. With a robust build quality and distinctive design, the Par Z Move is a professional calibre fixture designed for both permanent installation and touring projects in theatrical and concert environments. It is equipped with 3-pin and 5-pin DMX input/output sockets, for easy integration into any existing DMX system, as well as locking powerCON input and output sockets.

The fixture is also equipped with a Silent Mode that will cause the fans only to activate when the LED is illuminated. This is essential for many theatre and house of worship applications when complete silence is required at certain times within a performance or service. “Our new Par Z Move takes the popular Par Z Series to the next level,” commented ADJ USA’s National Sales Manager, Alfred Gonzales.

“By adding a moving head base to a powerful COB LED par fixture equipped with motorized zoom, we’ve created a truly versatile fixture that I’m sure will appeal to lighting designers working in many different sectors. Its fast movement, impressive optics and narrow minimum beam angle will appeal to rock ‘n’ roll LDs, while its wide zoom range, Silent Mode and extremely smooth dimming will also make it attractive to the theatre market.”

The Par Z Move is available now from ADJ subsidiaries, distributors and dealers worldwide. It joins the existing Par Z range, which includes the Par Z100 3K and Par Z100 5K white fixtures and Par Z120 RGBW colour mixing unit.
