Zevenbergen-based Events Light, headed by Jeroen Frijters, has made a major new investment in 36 Robe T2s and 60 Spiiders, supplied by Controllux. The new lighting fixtures are set to debut on Zodiac, a musical production by Marc Heinz.
As one of the first live events firms in the Netherlands to take stock of Robe T2 technology, Jeroen believes his intent to invest in the latest Robe innovations will prepare Events Light for the return of the sector at its full strength.
Events Light’s journey with Robe in 2018, when it began supplying equipment and technical support to all theatrical shows at Efteling, the largest theme park in the Netherlands, for which they initially purchased BMFL WashBeams and Spiiders to fulfil a design by Lighting Designer, Wim Dresens, who created visuals for CARO.
Delighted with the quality and performance of Robe fixtures, Events Light’s follow-up purchases marked the arrival of LEDBeam 150 and ESPRITES lighting fixtures as the company grew to provide full production packages, including lighting, video and audio as well as staging and rigging equipment.
Jeroen believes his willingness to provide and invest in new kit has proved a prudent and successful factor of the firm’s long term growth strategy.
Events Light moved to the current substantial new warehouse in Zevenbergen just outside of Breda, the Netherlands in 2019. While things have been challenging over the past year, Events Light has kept going by communicating with clients and working on limited projects throughout the lockdown period. Jeroen is now hiring again as business and activities increase with restrictions being lifted and the industry eagerly goes about re-starting.
