Crest Audio does Inaugural Loudspeaker Showcase at 2019 NAMM Show

The Crest Audio Versarray PRO powered line array system will be showcased at NAMM 2019

Crest Audio, a Peavey Commercial Audio brand, is set to bring big sound to the 2019 NAMM Show during the inaugural Loudspeaker System Showcase.

For the first time, the NAMM Show will present a showcase of line array and loudspeaker technologies hosted in the real-world environment of the Anaheim Convention Center Arena. Crest Audio will display two topline pro-audio solutions: Crest Audio Versarray PRO powered line array system and the Peavey Electronics RBN Series speaker enclosures.

Taking place Thursday 24 January 2019, through Saturday 26 January 2019, the Loudspeaker System Showcase will be a formidable opportunity for manufacturers to reach new potential customers from across the U.S. and beyond. The event will include two compact system showcases per day and one portable system showcase per day. This is different than before when NAMM organisers monitored how loud exhibitors could be. Participating manufacturers will now have the environment to demonstrate their product in a real-life scenario. This event has been organised in collaboration with the Producers of Live Sound International Magazine and will take place just a few steps away from the pro-audio hall within ACC North.

In addition to the round robin demos, Crest Audio has scheduled three specific demo dates and times so that attendees can specifically hear their products: Thursday 24 January 2019 at 1 p.m., Friday 25 January 2019 at 4:20 p.m., and Saturday 26 January 2019 at 5 p.m. All times are in the arena, where Crest Audio will be stationed in booth A9.

For the compact system showcase, Crest Audio will be flying the Crest Audio Versarray VR112 PRO line array cabinets and will pair them with Crest Audio Versarray VR-PRO 215 subwoofers. The Crest Audio VR112 PRO features Crest Audio’s latest-generation Mark III ribbon drivers and proprietary CLEAR FORM Waveguide for crystalline high-end reproduction.

The low end is supported by a 12-inch NEO Black Widow neodymium loudspeaker with dual 4-inch voice coils, which work in conjunction with Crest Audio’s Ram Air Cooling (RAC) design for even greater efficiency and power handling. The compact, flyable VR-PRO 215 sub, also with RAC design and the UniVent venting system, features dual 15-inch Black Widow Low Rider drivers and delivers full power down to 35 Hz and a peak SPL of 135dB. Both elements benefit from 3,000W of available dynamic power and are Dante-enabled. Combined with the innovative FlyQWIK hardware, the Crest Audio Versarray PRO system can be accurately deployed in a fraction of the time required by competing systems.

The portable showcase will feature Peavey’s RBN 112 speaker enclosure and RBN 215 powered subwoofer. Combining best-in-class audio quality with Peavey’s legendary reliability, RBN enclosures feature an internal temperature monitor with a variable speed cooling fan, level and clip indication to ensure optimal performance, and a user-friendly setup wizard. The 1,500W RBN 112 speaker enclosure features Peavey’s proprietary 120mm true ribbon high-frequency driver on a low-colouration waveguide. This technology result is crystal-clear audio that no other traditional compression driver can rival. Meanwhile, the RBN 215 sub maintains full output down to 36Hz with 2,000W total peak power. Constructed of heavily braced 18mm birch plywood, the RBN 215 sub is designed for years of rock-solid low-end reliability.
