The EFL tour was in place to be on New Year’s Eve: New York City. Emery performed at the red-hot waterfront party and concert spot Brooklyn Hanger as part of RPM Present’s Big Week NYC. The popular singer’s diverse musical talents were on full display recently at Slovenia’s Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, where he played two and a half hours of hits from his eclectic repertoire. Accenting the colourful performance chord for melodious chord, was a vivid multi-faceted light show created by Mario Curkovic, using a collection of Chauvet Professional Rogue and Maverick fixtures supplied by Akustika Bahun. John Garberson and his team from Creative BackStage faced this challenge earlier in December when they were asked to put together a rig at the amphitheater for a performance by Kings of Leon at a local radio station’s concert. Garberson and company were up to the task, providing the band’s Lighting Designer Sam MacLaren with a mix of fixtures that could create a show that remained true to his big venue design vision, yet still accounted for the Mesa Amphitheatre site’s limitations. Entertainment engineering specialists WIcreations have supplied several automation elements to help Belgian superstar rockers Clouseau ramp-up the drama and fun for their biennial end of year spectacular shows at the 20,000 capacity Antwerp Sportpaleis venue. The band is in the middle of playing four sold-out shows that started in December and conclude in January – following an extensive theatre tour ongoing through most of the year to support their innovative and popular Clouseau Danst (Clouseau Dances) album. PRG XL Video, the UK operation of Production Resource Group (PRG), has announced a major investment in ultra-high brightness Panasonic laser projectors. The new projectors continue the company’s policy of investing in innovative new technology. The PT-RZ31K projectors offer a range of benefits over traditional projector technology. Traditional units average 1,200 hours of use per lamp, whereas laser modules have a life of around 20,000 hours. The extended life, and subsequent reduction in maintenance make the units more efficient and cost effective to run.
