AKG C636 Microphone

AKG by Harman Professional Solutions and UK distributor Sound Technology Ltd has announced release of the new AKG C636 master reference handheld condenser microphone.

Building on the sound of the C535 microphone, the C636 innovates by providing professional singers with unparalleled stage reliability and performance. In addition to a custom-tuned capsule with hand-selected components, the C636 is engineered to reject feedback, handling noise and pop noise so vocalists can fully focus on their performance.

“A singer’s voice is their single most important instrument, and the AKG C636 captures their sound in the most unfiltered, uncompressed and natural way possible,” said Erich Gaertner, Product Line Manager, Harman Professional Solutions.

“The original C535 is renowned for its legendary audio quality and has appeared on countless stages worldwide. With the C636, we’ve kept that same sound and updated the design with state-of-the-art technology to create a stage microphone that combines best-in-class sound quality and onstage reliability.”

The AKG C636 features three proprietary technologies that are designed to address several common problems singers face on stage, including feedback, handling noise and pop noise.

A multilayer protection system prevents unwanted pop noises. The protection system consists of the grille, a foam layer behind the grille and a magnetically attached computer-modelled mesh layer on top of the capsule—providing singers with a clear, plosive-free vocal performance. This three-layer protection system is virtually unique to AKG and sets the new standard for pop noise suppression in the market.

In addition, thanks to a robust, zinc-alloy housing with a spring steel grille and 24-carat gold-plated capsule, the C636 is extremely rugged and durable enough to last a lifetime of performances.
