ADC Production Adds Christie Crimson to Projector Fleet

Christie has announced that longstanding partner ADC Production has purchased six Christie Crimson WU25 laser projectors. The rental and events specialist has continued to trust solely in Christie technology for its projection requirements, having been one of the first companies in Europe to acquire Christie’s digital projectors in 2000.

“We regularly invest in the first production line of the latest Christie projectors, and we’re keen to remain at the forefront of technology,” says Daniel Van Ruyssevelt, managing director, ADC Production. “With Crimson, we immediately noticed several benefits over lamp-based projector models, aside from the reduced maintenance costs. Firstly, we feel that the contrast is a significant improvement over our other projectors. Secondly, we can use them in any orientation with no reduction in efficiency. This is ideal for projection mapping, which is something our projectors are regularly used for. We’ve used them in several projects already, and we’ve been very happy with their performance.”

ADC Production opted for the WUXGA resolution version, feeling that the 16:10 ratio was a good compromise between going for the full HD aspect ratio, and the 4:3 aspect which some of its other projectors output. The wider ratio also gives additional pixels for use in projection mapping projects.

“In our business, we have found that more and more partners are choosing laser phosphor,” added Van Ruyssevelt. “As a bonus, Crimson projectors use the same lenses as some of our lamp-based Christie projectors, so we were able to move forward with the laser with reduced costs. We will keep our eye on the development of the latest technologies, and we plan to invest in more Christie projectors this year.”

“It’s been a pleasure working with ADC Production all these years, says Steve Capling, Enterprise Marketing Director, Christie. “They are a well-known and long-standing customer of Christie who pride themselves on high quality, first-rate visual projects and we’re pleased they will continue that legacy with Christie Crimson.”

Featuring an IP5X-sealed, solid-state laser light source in a rugged and compact chassis, the Crimson WU25 will provide years of reliable and virtually maintenance-free operation. With the enhanced colour performance of Christie’s proprietary BoldColor Technology and the ultra-fast processing of Christie TruLife electronics, Crimson is a powerful and easy to use projector that has quickly become a go-to solution for demanding, large venue events and applications.
