The Rock For People music festival celebrated its 30th anniversary with a five-day event featuring an all-star lineup and an expanded capacity of 50,000, which saw a fully sold-out audience flock to the Park 360 site in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic – a former military airfield dating back to the 1930s.
Technical production – lighting, audio, video, rigging – for the main KB and Tesco stages, the Europa 2 tent, as well as a number of smaller stages, was supplied by Czech rental company T SERVIS – who provided over 300 Robe moving lights.
A T SERVIS crew of 70 – headed by CEO Jana Heřmánková – worked on site in delivering and deploying 30 trucks worth of kit. The production lighting specifications for each stage were created after studying artist riders, and the main challenge for lighting was to offer plenty of flexible options, achieved using multifunctional fixtures.
The KB stage featured 109 Robe fixtures, including 54 FORTEs for front and key lighting, 32 MegaPointes along with eight iFORTE LTX and eight iFORTE LTX Follow Spots, rigged on the two FOH towers run in conjunction with four RoboSpot systems.
For key and front lighting on the Tesco stage, iFORTE was chosen with 14 fixtures, joined by 34 iESPRITES as the main spot luminaire and 38 Spiiders as the principal wash lights, together with 34 MegaPointes. Four RoboSpot systems assisted remote spot lighting while the Europa 2 tent was lit with a rig including 24 Robe LEDBeam 350s, 12 Spiiders and 12 LEDBeam 150s.
T SERVIS arrived on site two weeks beforehand to start the technical build once the stages were in place. The company has invested steadily in Robe in recent years with 64 iFORTES acquired ahead of the 2025 festival season.
“Robe has proved time and again to be excellent value for us,” said Heřmánková. “The kit is well made, reliable and everyone enjoys working and using their imaginations with this technology.”
