The team at Obsidian Control Systems is heading to PLASA 2026 in London from 6 to 8 September, with several major additions to the company’s control and data distribution portfolio. Visitors to Stand C22 can get hands-on with the all-new ONYX NX3 lighting console, NX W control wing, compact and modular NX1-16, and Heliotraq, a new simplified performer-tracking solution. The latest Netron innovations will also be on display, including the new FS16 rackmount network switch and the wider Netron family of data distribution solutions designed for professional broadcast.
Making its PLASA debut, the NX3 is a powerful ONYX lighting console shaped by direct feedback from lighting designers, programmers, and operators. Combining 10 motorised faders, RGB backlight feedback, a 17.3-inch 10-point multi-touch display, and direct control of up to 64 Universes, NX3 delivers high-capacity control in a powerful yet portable platform.
Designed for live production, touring, events, and permanent installations, it puts speed, precision, and intuitive operation at the centre of the programming experience. Its ergonomic hardware layout works naturally with the ONYX interface, while four network ports, support for three external displays, and compatibility with ONYX accessories provide flexibility and scalability for demanding productions.
Obsidian will also feature the new NX W, a sleek, portable, and full-featured PC control wing designed to deliver professional-grade ONYX operation via USB-C. Its responsive hardware surface brings the power of ONYX to any PC system, offering lighting operators the tools they need in a compact and intuitive form. From RGB-backlit motorised faders to customisable multi-function buttons, every detail is engineered for speed, precision, and creativity.
Also on display will be the NX1-16, an enhanced version of Obsidian’s compact, modular NX1 console. Now supporting 16 Universes—double the capacity of the original NX1—the controller offers expanded programming flexibility while retaining its ultra-compact footprint. Fully compatible with the NXK keypad and NXP motorised playback wing, the NX1-16 delivers the full power of the ONYX platform for portable and space-conscious applications.
Introducing Obsidian Control Systems ONYX NX3 and NETRON FS16
Expanding the award-winning Netron product family, the FS16 is a professional 1U rack-mount network switch built for entertainment and lighting networks requiring high-speed data distribution and PoE+ capability. The switch features 12 Gigabit ports, one 10Gb fiber port, and three 1.25Gb fiber ports, providing high-speed data and power distribution for Netron nodes and other PoE+ devices.
Designed for demanding live productions and high-data-volume lighting systems, the FS16 supports quick network configuration via front-panel controls, external remote access, or a web-based interface for fast deployment and reliable operation.
Making its PLASA debut will be a new simplified performer-tracking solution, Heliotraq. Designed for quick setup, Heliotraq brings streamlined, LiDAR-powered tracking to small and mid-sized performance spaces. By continuously mapping the 3D stage environment, it enables fast, browser-based setup and precise calibration for dependable, dynamic performer tracking. Supporting up to eight Elation fixtures and two performers, Heliotraq operates either stand-alone or through its intuitive interface. With minimal hardware and reduced complexity, it’s an ideal entry-level solution for venues seeking reliable, simplified tracking with less training needed.
Join us at Stand C22 to learn how ONYX can improve your lighting control workflows and elevate productions of any scale.
