Wyld Launches Mobile Mesh Technology for Live Events

Wyld Networks launches new mobile mesh technology to help sports, entertainment and events industries generate new revenues and get back to business.

Wyld Networks has launched a new mobile mesh solution that could help sports stadiums, entertainment venues, exhibition halls and event settings kick-start new revenue-generating opportunities, enhance the customer experience and get back up and running safely.

Wyld mesh networking harnesses the power of peoples’ mobile devices by connecting smartphones directly to other smartphones without the need for cellular 4G/5G or Wi-Fi.  Combined with Wyld Fusion, the mesh technology can be built into existing team or venue branded mobile apps, to deliver relevant content and location-aware marketing during events as well as enhance the visitor experience.

By creating virtual geozones around complete buildings, stands, spaces or access areas, the system can also manage entry, monitor social distancing and provide alerts or public safety information. Data simply finds the quickest and easiest route by hopping between phones to deliver content and notifications.

For event managers, this opens up exciting new opportunities to communicate with their visitors and fans during events. For example, it is easy to set up and promote ticket and merchandising offers, arrange pre-booking at on-site retail outlets and restaurants; as well as provide real-time new, wayfinding information and disability assistance. When a player scores, for example, clubs can immediately send out a replica shirt offer on their supporters’ app to be picked up at the exit nearest to the fan. Wyld Mesh also gives the ability to gamify events and offer a new level of engagement, participation and fun.

“Our Wyld Mesh and Fusion technology has far-ranging applications in enhancing the customer experience to help bring fans back to stadiums and visitors back to events,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks, a portfolio company of Tern. “The additional benefit is that we can also support safety to help organisers and give people the confidence to return in large numbers.”
