Philips Vari-Lite VL800 BeamLine
The new Philips Vari-Lite VL800 BeamLine from Philips Entertainment Lighting is an LED effects luminaire offering unique, dynamic looks which will appeal to lighting designers working in show environments of all kinds. The first LED effects unit from the Philips Vari-Lite brand, it produces a distinctive, collimated, flat sheet of light in a 3.5° beam with advanced movement, colour control and pixel-mapping capabilities.
A linear strip moving light with 12 RGBW LED emitters, the Philips Vari-Lite VL800 BeamLine features a newly-developed optical system which provides a bright, collimated and elongated beam of light, adding extra depth and dimension to lighting designs. Adding further to the dynamic effects possibilities is the option for pixel-mapping control across 3 zones or, in full pixel mode, across each of its 12 LED emitters individually, allowing for the integration of video into a performance.
The Philips Vari-Lite VL800 BeamLine provides fast, precisely-repeatable movement with continuous pan and tilt, plus the added dynamics of mega-stepping and twists effect functions on both the pan and tilt channels. Compact and lightweight to meet the demands of today’s show lighting environments, it has been designed from the ground up to maximize performance, reliability and ease of maintenance. At the same time, its highly competitive price point offers rental customers a faster and higher return on investment.
Martin Palmer, Philips Entertainment Lighting Product Manager, said: “The VL800 BeamLine is a result of our commitment to meet the need of designers for truly unique and versatile lighting effects. Its unique optical system produces a flat sheet of light which, matched with its colour, movement and pixel-mapping capabilities, make it a really distinctive yet flexible fixture, able to produce a broad variety of looks. We believe it will really blossom in the hands of lighting designers in all kinds of show lighting environments, from concert touring and corporate event productions to televised light entertainment shows.”
Philips Vari-Lite’s VL2600 Series
The new Philips Vari-Lite VL2600 range of LED moving head luminaires from Philips Entertainment Lighting has been designed as a smaller, brighter and lighter LED alternative to the popular VL2500 Spot and Wash moving heads, the long-time industry favourites in mid-sized professional show lighting applications.
The Philips Vari-Lite VL2600 range combines world-leading LED light source engineering with the renowned quality, colour palette and performance of the Philips Vari-Lite brand. In terms of light quality, output power, reliability and cost, the 3 fixtures in the VL2600 range are simply the highest performing luminaires – and the most attractive investment proposition – in their class.
Having listened to the wishes of customers worldwide, Philips Entertainment Lighting has exceeded the output of the Philips Vari-Lite VL2500, while expanding the available package and its potential applications with the addition of a dedicated Profile fixture, plus the added advantage of a beam-shaping system within the Wash fixture. At the same time, the compact form factor has been retained.
All 3 models in the range – Spot, Profile and Wash – offer an updated, more saturated, but still familiar Philips Vari-Lite CMY color mixing system with variable CTO color correction, high-color temperature (7200 K) output, a class-leading wide zoom range (7-48˚) and a flat and even field of light at any beam angle. And, of course, they deliver all the effects and features that users expect of the Philips Vari-Lite brand.
In designing the VL2600, Philips Entertainment Lighting has prioritized the twin goals of top-class performance and cost-effective ownership. By far the brightest in its class, the VL2600 range is tough and reliable, compact and lightweight, easy to service and maintain thanks to its shared parts, and built to withstand the rigours of a touring environment. Competitively priced, the range promises to deliver a faster and higher return on investment to rental customers, making the VL2600 the most attractive new proposition for those servicing television, professional theatre, corporate events and concert touring applications.
“The VL2600 range is a full system lighting solution which delivers the features that lighting designers desire – high output, compact, improved colour range, the effects package, the light quality and the versatility,” added Martin Palmer, Product Manager EMEA for Philips Entertainment Lighting. “At the same time, it is carefully designed and priced to offer a real business advantage to our customers servicing the mid-scale show lighting segment. The VL2600 range gives our rental customers the modern, LED alternative to the much-loved VL2500 that they have been asking for, but with a greater return on investment.”
