Movecat, one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of innovative stage equipment and the only manufacturer in the field of stage kinetics capable of offering practice-tested, certified and genuinely available integrated systems compliant with BGV C1 and SIL3, has just won the German Design Award for its Touring Rack II.

The award was given in the German Design Award’s “Excellent Product Design Entertainment” category.

The presentation was made on 8 February 2019 in Frankfurt. This is not the first time that the excellence of the Touring Rack II has been recognized; last year, too, it won the P.I.P.A. international media award at the Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt. “Naturally we are absolutely delighted that this pioneering development has won further recognition,” commented Movecat CEO Andrew Abele.

In the opinion of the jury of the German Design Award, “the Touring Rack II has raised the bar in the field of ‘all-in-one’ entertainment controllers in terms of compact construction, user-friendliness, ergonomics, functional safety and conformity with standards”.

They described the device as “a robust, intuitive to use, compact and user-friendly variant on the classic touring rack, which through intelligent functions such as the illuminated display of all operating statuses, the ability to connect external switches and the possibility of combining several racks in a network, stands out from the mass of other touring racks on the market.”

The All-in-One Touring Rack II from Movecat complies with the EN 60204-32, EN 13849-1 and VDE 0113 guidelines. It unites all the requisite control components in a compact, shock-absorbent road case. The integrated power station assumes responsibility for the power distribution, the safeguard of the controller units and the monitoring of the power supply, including automatic correction of the rotating field, should this ever prove necessary.

The safety concept is complemented by an intelligent bypass design and Movecat’s tried-and-tested M-Link system, which makes it possible for up to twelve racks, for a maximum of 384 drives, to be combined and operated simultaneously in a single network.
