With the FLYSTAGE 290, R2B has created the largest trailer stage in Germany. Global Truss’ iM-Type heavy-duty truss system is used for key structural elements of the stage.
The FLYSTAGE 290 was developed as a fully integrated system in which not only the main performance area, but also the side wings and backstage area have been structurally assessed and incorporated into the overall design. This provides event organisers, production companies and technical service providers with a highly durable, flexible and practical solution for large-scale events.
In its core configuration, the stage offers a total area of 290 square metres. The main performance area measures 190 square metres, with a width of 16.6 metres and a depth of 11.6 metres. It is complemented by two side wings of 50 square metres each, as well as a backstage area providing an additional 75 square metres of usable space.
The variable stage height of between 1.5 and 2.5 metres offers additional flexibility in use. In particular, the maximum height of 2.5 metres represents completely new territory for a trailer stage. The clear height from the stage floor to the lower edge of the roof truss is 9.5 metres, providing generous possibilities for lighting, sound and rigging concepts.
The portals, with an internal width of 5.7 metres, also provide ample space for banners, LED walls and a wide range of lighting concepts.

The FLYSTAGE 290 also sets high standards in terms of load capacity. The total roof load is 22.5 tonnes. To safely support these loads, R2B relies on the iM-Type heavy-duty truss system from Global Truss.
Among other applications, the trusses are used for vertical load transfer at the four corner supports of the roof. Thanks to its fork-end connection, the system is particularly well suited to the fast, efficient and practical assembly and dismantling of the portals.
