DirectOut unveils PRODIGY.MX

DirectOut has introduced multiformat audio matrix, the PRODIGY.MX.

PRODIGY.MX offers a capacity of 1,664 by 1,668 audio channels. Its hardware accommodates multiple audio formats, selectable between Dante, RAVENNA/AES67, SoundGrid, AVB/MILAN, and MADI.

The modules feature bidirectional sample rate conversion (HD SRC), operational control is facilitated through globcon control software, compatible with both Mac and PC, an intuitive touch display, providing essential monitoring and control capabilities. Third-party control protocols, like Ember+, are available as options.

In its first release PRODIGY.MX will incorporate processing features, such as gain control for all inputs and outputs, and channel grouping. Additional DSP functions are planned for future updates.

DirectOut is also introducing high-channel count MADI modules shaped for the audio network slots of the PRODIGY devices.

Claudio Becker-Foss, CEO and CTO at DirectOut, commented: “With PRODIGY.MX we add an incredibly powerful infrastructure device to our top series. The variety of modules take format conversion and signal distribution to a whole new level and make it easy to tailor solutions for numerous applications, reusing the same hardware in different combinations. After the success of our MADI Matrix products, we are happy to now offer a new platform that goes far beyond the expectations of a remake.”

PRODIGY.MX and the DirectOut solutions will be showcased next week at IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam, Stand 8.D64.
