Ayrton’s New Diablo LED Profile – Smaller is Remarkably Better

Launched at Prolight+Sound 2019, Ayrton’s innovative, ultra-compact Diablo profile is the smallest, lightest and most efficient LED luminaire of its type.

Weighing just over 20kg, Diablo delivers a record output of 19,000 lumens from its 300W source and matches the ultra-compact Mistral in dimensions. Diablo is both versatile and feature-rich and is the latest to join Khamsin and Ghibli in Ayrton’s stunning new profile luminaire range.

Diablo’s miniaturised framing system uses eight motors to accurately position its four blades across 100% surface area, enabling precision framing of any object, regardless of the luminaire’s position. The 119 mm frontal lens produces an extremely uniform flat beam with no hot spot that renders perfect images at any beam angle.

Diablo shares Mistral’s 13-element proprietary optical system to deliver an 8:1 zoom ration and produces a 6.7° to 53° zoom range. It includes CMY colour mixing, a progressive CTO and a wheel with seven complementary colours for an infinite palette of bright pastels and saturated colours. The effects section includes a wheel with seven interchangeable HD glass gobos, a continuous dynamic effects wheel, 15-blade iris diaphragm, heavy frost filter and five-facet indexable, circular rotating prism.

Like all Ayrton fixtures, Diablo has a highly efficient phase-change liquid cooling system using a heat pipe that includes a particularly effective, ultra-silent ventilation mode which is perfect for stage and studio applications.

Diablo, like its sister fixtures the Levante wash light and Mistral spot the luminaire is available in two versions, ‘S’ and ‘TC’: Diablo-S is specially designed for stage applications and utilises a monochromatic LED light source that can generate an ultra high output and metallic white light calibrated at 6500K; Diablo-TC is geared for applications that require perfect colour rendition, and uses a monochromatic LED source with a native CRI greater than 90, high TM30 readings and a 5700K colour temperature.
