ProDJ delivered audio experiences for Arrival From Sweden – The Music of ABBA using Outline’s renowned GTO C-12 and Mantas 28 loudspeaker systems.
ProDJ was selected by Medusa Concert (Sweden) to deliver sound reinforcement for this tribute show. The performances featured original ABBA musicians alongside the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra.
ProDJ’s partnership with ‘Arrival From Sweden’ began in 2018 at the Palanga Concert Hall, where an installed Outline Superfly and Mantas 28 system continues to deliver audio performance to this day. The performance impressed not only the audience but also FOH engineer Chrille Sjöblom, who recognised the potential for future collaborations.
“Our collaboration with Arrival From Sweden began in late December 2018, when the group performed at the Palanga Concert Hall,” Dovydas Bajoras, founding partner of ProDJ, recalled. “This venue is equipped with a permanently installed Outline Superfly + Mantas 28 sound system, operated by ProDJ sound engineers. Both the system and the quality of our work impressed the group and their FOH engineer, Chrille Sjöblom. After the show, Chrille informed the producer that he looked forward to future collaborations with us.”
In 2019, ProDJ supported three consecutive concerts in the Baltic capitals — Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius — and continued working with the band on a 2023 tour before embarking on the even more ambitious 2024 tour.
“At the very beginning of our work with the band, we were using our old sound system, which had several significant limitations: it was heavy, difficult to manage, and struggled to deliver consistent sound coverage across venues. We pushed it to its limits but quickly realized that we needed better technology, which led us to upgrade to Outline in 2020,” Bajoras elaborated.
In 2020, ProDJ invested in the Mantas 28 [Golden Configuration], a system so impressive that they soon acquired another identical setup, followed by the GTO C-12.
“While we appreciated the capabilities of the GTA Otto amplifiers in our old system, it was clear an upgrade was necessary. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we acquired the Mantas 28 system in 2020. Its performance was so remarkable that we quickly added another identical system, followed by the GTO C-12, further enhancing our capabilities,” Bajoras explained.
The 2024 tour, titled The Music of ABBA in Symphony, was a unique blend of ABBA’s timeless hits performed live with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. The tour visited major Lithuanian cities, including Šiauliai, Kaunas, Vilnius, and Klaipėda, drawing thousands of fans to arenas ranging from 2,500 to 6,000 seats.
Each venue presented distinct acoustic challenges, but Outline’s systems rose to the occasion. Bajoras highlighted the tour’s demanding logistics: “Time constraints and differing venue characteristics challenged every setup, but Outline systems simplified the process. Their lightweight design, quick setup, and infinite configuration options made a huge difference. These systems give us confidence no matter the venue.”
The final concert of the 2024 tour brought a poignant moment of camaraderie. “After the final concert of this year’s tour [2024], Anton Foresta, the group’s technical director and sound engineer, called out backstage, ‘Hey everyone, let’s meet on stage for a group photo in 10 minutes!’ Anton gathered the entire band, while I brought together the ProDJ team. We all met on stage and captured a memorable group photo after completing an intense four-day tour with back-to-back concerts,” Bajoras described the scene. “During this moment, Chrille Sjöblom approached me and remarked, ‘Guys, I could easily do another five concerts in a row with you!’”
Medusa Concert’s collaboration with ProDJ and the deployment of Outline systems exemplify their dedication to delivering quality and truly immersive live experiences.
