Meyer Sound Brings Sonic Lounge and More to PL+S in Frankfurt

Meyer Sound’s Sonic Lounge will be reassembled on site at the Frankfurt Messe for the 2019 Prolight+Sound (PL+S) show from April 2 through 5. The Sonic Lounge provides a comfortable, convivial environment conveniently located at the show where audio professionals can relax and enjoy refreshments while communicating directly with Meyer Sound sales, support and R&D teams.

The Sonic Lounge also will feature daily demonstrations of the new Spacemap LIVE spatial mixing platform and an extensive display of Meyer Sound products, including the groundbreaking new ULTRA-X40.

The Sonic Lounge will be located at Portalhaus level Via, Room Frequenz 1.

“Prolight + Sound is an important show, and it’s held in one of the most important markets in Europe. It keeps us fully engaged in this part of the world where we have a dedicated office and a significant customer base,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing John McMahon. “And this year we are expecting tremendous excitement around our new flagship point source loudspeaker, the ULTRA-X40, one of the most important new product developments in company history.”

ULTRA-X40 loudspeakers along with Lina compact line array loudspeakers will be incorporated into a multi-point immersive system created to totally envelop the Sonic Lounge using a preview of Spacemap Live, a new spatial sound platform that leverages the power of the Galaxy network platform along with new custom control software for real-time manipulation of 3D sound panning.

Spacemap Live preview demos will be held daily on the odd hours, with the engaging sessions hosted by Director, Digital Experience Tim Boot and Director, Spatial Sound Steve Ellison.

The power and clarity of Meyer Sound’s large touring and installation systems can be heard in the Messe’s Festhalle arena, where PRG will stage a sound, light and video spectacular with audio anchored by a Meyer Sound Leo Family system with Lyon line array loudspeakers, 1100-LFC low-frequency control elements and the literally breath-taking visceral impact of the new VLFC very low-frequency control element.

Immediately prior to the show, on April 1, Meyer Sound will host a demonstration of its Constellation acoustic system at the kING Culture and Congress Hall about 25 miles from Frankfurt at Ingelheim-am-Rhein. Utilizing the D-Mitri digital audio platform and based around the patented VRAS algorithm, Constellation active acoustic systems are acknowledged as the global standard for stunningly natural room reverberation. The demo session is by reservation only; contact event@meyersound.de for more information.

Two members of Meyer Sound’s global support team will participate in the PL+S education program. Senior Technical Support and Education Specialist Merlijn van Veen will present “Mind the Gap: Improved Cancellation for Cardioid Subwoofer Arrays” at 1 pm on April 3; Director of System Optimization Bob McCarthy will present “M-Noise: A New Test Signal” on April 4 at 3 pm. Both presentations will be in the Entente Room.
