Van Damme Cables, through VDC Trading, has opened a second fibre termination laboratory at its London headquarters.
VDC Trading now operates the only accredited fibre termination facility in Central London, offering fully in-house design, termination and testing. The development builds on Neutrik Certified opticalCON Assembler (COCA) status, with COCA A approval placing VDC Trading among a select group of just 24 certified assemblers worldwide, and only the fourth in the UK.
The expanded fibre operation supports a wide range of Van Damme Tourlight II fibre assemblies, including opticalCON Duo and Quad configurations in both single-mode (OS1) and multimode (OM3), alongside FibreCo HMA connectors in Senior and Junior formats. Assemblies are available in both standard ruggedised constructions and reduced outer diameter variants, allowing engineers to balance durability with compact, lightweight system design.
Speaking about the expansion, Adam Jafrabadi, Export Director at VDC Trading, said the new lab reflects a wider shift towards deeper in-house expertise and faster turnaround, helping to reduce lead times on custom fibre assemblies.
“Opening a second fibre lab at our London headquarters is a natural progression for us,” he explained. “It allows us to scale production while maintaining the quality control our customers expect. Plus, it puts us in a much stronger position to support complex touring and broadcast projects where time, reliability and precision are critical.”
By bringing increased fibre capacity under one roof, VDC Trading is able to respond more quickly to custom requirements while maintaining consistency across every assembly that leaves the facility, supporting professionals working across live events, studios and mobile broadcast units worldwide.
