TAIT and Kinesys join forces to present new innovations at Prolight + Sound 2022.

Kinesys product engineering and TAIT technology united at Prolight + Sound 2022 to introduce new products to the market.

Two adaptable zero-fleet winches have been curated from TAIT’s long-established BT2 range: ideal for scenic movement, deployment in arrays for flybar operation, and with the requisite SIL3-rated safety features now mandated for performer flying.

New single-axis drives in 4kW and 22kW sizes, which  provide an impressive powerhouse for precision position control, with local touch-panel operation and Navigator technology built-in, now provide an efficient alternative to the multi-axis Motor Control Cabinets, traditionally deployed for installation projects. A third winch, mounted within a truss and wheeled for easy positioning, can be used for any single-line lifting application, such as point-hoists, and is available with a full gimbal option for 3D performer flying.

TAIT has a long history of creating bespoke products for prestigious live events and installations around the world. Building on this unique industry knowledge and existing technologies, the combined teams have developed an offer that will bring simplified connection and commissioning workflows using  pre-configured drive parameters and connectorised installation, leading to lower total cost of ownership.

Kinesys CEO and President of TAIT Products, Dave Weatherhead said: “Kinesys is well known for versatile, dependable touring equipment for automation. As a result of the merger with TAIT in 2019, the strategic investment has resulted in a new range of products that bring the best of TAIT’s and Kinesys’ control and integration technology, engineering and manufacturing together, to meet the market needs for high quality machinery and controls. These new products will be built to order in the UK,using the same high-quality components as deployed in bespoke BT2 winches.”

Head of Business Development, Toby Van-Hay said: “We’re delighted to be at Prolight+Sound with an evolved proposition for clients. The introduction of these new products will really expand the creative options for all sizes of performance venues. and we’re looking forward to building those opportunities with partners over the coming year.”

The new winches and drives form the motive elements needed to cater to many different entertainment applications. With Navigator technology built-in, these new machines can form part of a complete automation system that is operated from TAIT’s flagship epiQ console. The epiQ console was also on display for hands-on demonstrations in Hall 12, stand C96.
