Rentman raises $22 million from Expedition Growth Capital

Rentman announced a $22 million (€20 million) growth equity investment from Expedition Growth Capital. The investment, Rentman’s first external capital since inception, will accelerate new customer-oriented investments, strategic acquisitions and Rentman’s platform development roadmap.

Rentman empowers the companies and teams that make events and media productions happen with cloud-based software to efficiently manage their most critical resources: their gear and their crew.

Rentman was founded by CEO Roy van den Broek, who previously owned and operated an audio-visual equipment rental company and experienced first-hand the pain of legacy software. Rentman launched to the market in 2015 as the first SaaS solution to address the complex needs of events and media production with equipment and crew management combined. Integrated RFID functionality was recently added to the platform, along with a stand-alone Crew Management product.

“This investment marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Rentman. We believe that events and media production professionals deserve incredible software, and we are proud that our platform enables our users to deliver unforgettable productions,” said CEO and Founder Roy van den Broek. “We see increasing demand across North America, Europe and our other key regions, and the capital and specialist partnership from Expedition will allow us to accelerate our plans.”

“Rentman is profitable, growing rapidly, and has a strong, ambitious company culture,” added Will Sheldon, Partner at Expedition Growth Capital, who has joined Rentman’s Board of Directors. “It was clear when speaking with Rentman’s customers that Rentman offers an industry leading platform that underpins complex workflows in this highly demanding industry. There is an exciting roadmap ahead and we are thrilled to be partnering with Rentman on this journey.”
