Changez d’Air Festival (Change of Air), now in its 25th year, takes place at the Espace Culturel l’Escale in St Genis les Ollières to the west of Lyon and is well established as a major part of the city’s vibrant music scene.
Taking place over five nights in May, Changez d’Air 2025 saw performances from Shawn Jobin, Moonfruits, Delgres, Barkanan, Nô Brigant, Ofé, Emma Peters, Sam Sauvage, Danilo and others, in a venue that called for a powerful and punchy PA system which wouldn’t take up a lot of space.
Local event technology company MKplus had recently taken delivery of some new NEXO P18s, taking their total inventory of NEXO speakers to more than 200. The team knew that the largest speaker in NEXO’s latest P+ Series point-source range was a powerhouse performer, but could it really handle FOH duties for such a diverse range of artists including some high-octane bands?
“The sound engineers and artists were very impressed with what this ‘small’ box could deliver,” reported MKplus Co-Manager Christian Marty, commenting on a system that comprised just a pair of P18s with a centre P10 supplemented by four L18 subs.
Alongside its extraordinary power, the versatility of NEXO P+ was also showcased in the Changez d’Air Festival system through the deployment of a further 8 x P12s as onstage wedge monitors.
“The system was perfectly suited to this type of configuration requiring high performance from compact cabinets” confirmed Marty in conclusion. “Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers as well as our technical teams for this remarkable festival.”
