The Rockstore has been the beating heart of the live music scene in the French city of Montpellier ever since 1986 when Level 42 played to a sold-out crowd at the iconic club on its opening night. More than 4,500 concerts later and Rockstore now takes the music outside into the Occitanie summer sunshine with Club Peyrou at Le Peyrou.
The local branch of production technology specialists Texen rigged the stage with NEXO GEO M12 for a diverse lineup including DJ sets from French music duo Polo & Pan and Dabeull.
“We flew main left and right line arrays of 11 x GEO M12 with adjacent hangs of six MSUB18, plus six NEXO STM S118 subs on the ground for additional LF impact,” reported Texen’s Nicolas Bellino. “NEXO’s P18 point source speakers were used for front fills and also on L18 subs for DJ monitors.”
Founded in Aix-en-Provence in 1981 to meet the growing demand for stage equipment in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Texen has grown quickly to become one of the leading companies in its field of activity throughout the south of France.
Today, with a team of 28 people spread across its two agencies in Aix en Provence (head office) and Montpellier, Texen offers a wide range of services in the supply of production technology.
“The range of the GEO M12 was very impressive with plenty of SPL even at 60m” says Bellino in conclusion. “Everyone at the Rockstore was delighted with the sound.”
