Nexus Marketplace has announced Impact Production Services (IPS) as its inaugural vendor partner. The partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies and for the broader UK audiovisual rental industry.
IPS brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Nexus platform, offering production companies access to a comprehensive catalogue of professional AV equipment. As the first vendor to commit to the marketplace, IPS has played a pivotal role not only as a launch partner but as a genuine collaborator in the development of the platform itself.
The relationship between Nexus and IPS extends far beyond a typical vendor onboarding. Throughout the development and pre-launch phases, IPS provided invaluable operational insight that has directly influenced the design, functionality, and user experience of the Nexus platform.
From real-world feedback on workflows and equipment categorisation to stress-testing the vendor agreements and commission structures, IPS’s hands-on involvement has ensured that Marketplace is built to genuinely serve the needs of rental vendors — not just the production companies booking from them. Their willingness to invest time, share candid feedback, and challenge assumptions during the build process has been instrumental in shaping a platform that works for both sides of the marketplace.
“Building a two-sided marketplace means nothing without genuine input from the people who’ll use it every day,” said Tom Agar, Founder of Nexus Marketplace. “IPS didn’t just agree to list their equipment — they rolled up their sleeves and helped us build something that actually solves real problems. Their expertise has been woven into the fabric of this platform, and we’re proud to have them as our first vendor partner,” said Karl Saunders, Managing Director, IPS. “We’re excited to have been assisting Nexus with development since the original discussions were held at the launch event in Manchester during the summer of 2025. We see it as great way to improve our equipment utilisation which at certain times of year can leave our warehouse very full. The idea of being able to easily source a large volume of a particular product from multiple UK vendors with one enquiry and one delivery will make life significantly easier without having the carbon footprint and carnet hassle of bringing products in from abroad.”
The UK AV equipment rental industry faces a persistent utilisation problem, with average equipment utilisation rates sitting at just 50–55%. This means that roughly half of all professional AV equipment sits idle at any given time — representing a significant lost revenue opportunity for rental vendors and a fragmented, inefficient booking experience for production companies.
Nexus Marketplace is designed to address this challenge head-on. By aggregating inventory from vendors like IPS onto a single, intelligent platform, Nexus makes it easier for production companies to discover, aggregate options, and book equipment — while giving vendors access to a broader customer base and the tools to maximise their fleet utilisation.
The platform’s AI-powered features include intelligent equipment matching, predictive availability, and streamlined booking flows that aggregate items across multiple vendors into a single, seamless transaction, with all logistics handled by the Nexus fleet.
With IPS now live on the platform, Nexus Marketplace is actively onboarding additional vendors across the UK. We are welcoming an initial cohort of customers in March who will be able to browse and book equipment immediately, with new vendors and expanded inventory being added in the coming weeks.
