Dutch band Kane made a powerful return to the stage in 2024/2025, thrilling fans across the Netherlands with a series of unforgettable live shows. Central to the visual impact of the tour was a bold and dynamic lighting design which was brought to life almost entirely using Highlite products.
The lighting setup for the tour was supplied by HighliteRent, commissioned by ARF&YES, and featured a robust selection of fixtures designed to deliver both power and precision. The touring rig included: 20 Infinity iW-1941, RDM, 56 Showtec Stage Blinder FLEX Blaze, 10 Infinity Raccoon S420/4 and 36 Infinity Raccoon P14/4.
During their show at Park City Live in Heerlen, the main stage also featured a fixed installation using: 22 Infinity Furion H402, six Infinity Furion P602 and six Infinity Furion S602.
The lighting design was created by Jarmo de Blaeij, lighting designer at ARF&YES, who approached the project with a clear creative vision. ‘We didn’t want to create a standard light show,’ Blaeij explained. ‘The idea was to do something different – something that sets Kane apart from other bands.’
The entire show was pre-programmed using visualisation software, with around four days of programming invested before the tour began. This allowed for a seamless and highly synchronised performance, where lighting played a key role in amplifying the emotional energy of the music.
Blaeij was particularly impressed by the performance and durability of the Highlite fixtures: ‘These fixtures have a very high light output, which is crucial for outdoor shows during daylight or twilight. They’re also extremely robust and ideal for touring, where equipment is constantly being loaded in and out of trucks.’
The Showtec Stage Blinder FLEX Blaze proved especially versatile, used both as powerful blinders and as subtle floor lighting for the band. ‘The warm white colour remains beautiful even at lower intensities,’ Jarmo noted. ‘And because they’re LED-based, we can daisy-chain many of them without overloading the power circuit. That’s a huge advantage at festivals.’
He also praised the Infinity Raccoon series and the iW-1941 RDM for their reliability and creative flexibility. ‘We were looking for strong washers and strobes for this tour, and we found exactly what we needed in Highlite’s products. In terms of output and ruggedness, they’re on par with any other brand we’ve worked with.’
Kane’s performances at Bevrijdingsfestival Overijssel in Zwolle and Park City Live in Heerlen were among the highlights of the tour.
