Floating Sky, a kinetic stage concept that hovers above audiences, has been unveiled by Belgium-based creative studio Prismax in collaboration with a network of technology and production partners.
First trialled at Tomorrowland in 2025, Floating Sky represents a major shift in immersive scenography. Instead of extending the stage outward, the system transforms the airspace above the audience into a dynamic digital canvas. Individually controlled kinetic video tiles move with precision overhead, enabling pixel-mapped content, lighting, and motion to flow seamlessly across the crowd.
Designed for adaptability, Floating Sky supports a wide range of applications. From festivals and arena shows to immersive experiences and art installations, the system can be configured to suit vastly different environments, reducing reliance on single-use stage builds. This flexibility empowers producers and designers to reimagine audience experiences in virtually any setting, marking a new era of hybrid scenography and next-generation entertainment.
Developed over three months in close collaboration with the Tomorrowland ecosystem and partners including Face, Pixelscreen, Phlippo Productions, and KLSTR Tech, Floating Sky demonstrates the ambition, technical scale, and teamwork required to deliver future-facing live experiences.
Belgian creative studio Prismax is behind some of the world’s most iconic live experiences, including Tomorrowland’s main stage and its groundbreaking Las Vegas Sphere residency. By combining visionary storytelling with cutting-edge technology, Prismax creates premium multi-sensory experiences for artists, brands, show creators, and production companies.
Floating Sky was showcased at ISE 2026, running from Tuesday 3 February to Thursday 5 February 2026 in Barcelona.
