DirectOut announces shipping of PRODIGY.MX

DirectOut announces the availability of PRODIGY.MX, the latest addition to its PRODIGY Series. Following its successful debut at the IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam, the first batch of the new Multiformat Audio Matrix is now shipping.

PRODIGY.MX boosts an extensive channel count, offering up to 1664 inputs and 1668 outputs granularly handled by a single-channel routing matrix. This compact 2RU device converts, connects or even isolates various digital audio formats, including MADI, Dante, RAVENNA/AES67, SoundGrid, and AVB/MILAN. Optional HD SRC technology bridges different clock domains seamlessly. With this versatile internal structure, PRODIGY.MX excels as powerful infrastructure device that enables any signal flow while acting as “audio firewall” between independent audio networks, if needed.

The introduction of PRODIGY.MX also brought a complementary globcon update. Among the notable enhancements, a highlight is the integration of new Factory Templates designed for PRODIGY.MP, streamlining and easing deployment in Festival and Touring applications. These templates, when loaded via globcon, automate the setup of internal DSP routing, Layouts, and Snapshots configurations on the PRODIGY.MP device. This feature allows users to focus solely on physical input and output patching and PA tuning.

In addition to this, the entire PRODIGY series received a maintenance update. The new system build includes some customer requests of the last months, such as zeroConf (link local address support) for the Management interface, AES output dark to disable the AES output signal for downstream failover detection and a MIDI tunnel for SG.IO, to mention just a few.

“We are thrilled to announce the availability of PRODIGY.MX and the overall improvements for the entire series. These updates underscore DirectOut’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that simplify audio management and enhance the user experience in demanding environments,” said Luca Giaroli, Strategy and Audio Solutions Manager at DirectOut.
