d&b audiotechnik now offers a range of EN 54 compliant audio solutions

d&b now offers a range of EN 54-24 compliant loudspeakers and EN 54-16 compliant audio solutions.

Underscoring its commitment to providing premium solutions that meet critical safety standards, d&b audiotechnik now offers a range of EN 54-24 compliant loudspeakers and EN 54-16 compliant audio solutions to better serve the needs of its customers. These certifications ensure d&b products are not only manufactured to the highest quality but can be used as part of an emergency communication system in addition to everyday audio needs, allowing customers to get the most from their d&b systems.

“We are delighted to announce that we have achieved EN 54 certification on a number of products,” said Wolfgang Schulz, d&b Product Manager, Electronics. “We’re constantly looking to improve our systems and provide solutions our customers want and need, and these certifications go a long way towards broadening our reach in the European market and beyond.”

The EN 54-16 certification describes the required testing and performance criteria for Voice Alarm Control and Indication Equipment (VACIE) used in alarm systems installed in buildings. d&b’s D80 amplifier, 30D amplifier, 10D amplifier and DS10 audio network bridge are now EN 54-16 certified and approved for use in life safety and voice evacuation systems, enabling them to be used in an even wider variety of installations.

EN 54-24 specifies requirements, testing methods and performance criteria for loudspeakers used in fire detection and alarm systems that broadcast a warning of a fire to the occupants of a building. EN 54-24 compliant loudspeakers, which now includes d&b’s A-Series, Y-Series, xS range of loudspeakers, must comply with certain acoustic requirements such as sound pressure levels and speech intelligibility, as well as ruggedness standards and protection ratings for environmental conditions.
