Production Futures continues its drive to create access and opportunity for newcomers to the production industries with the launch of its Summer Skills Series. The campaign, which runs throughout the summer and beyond seeks to connect new talent with jobs, training, open days, boot camps, and many other opportunities.
Access to the Summer Skills Series is free through Production Futures online 24/7 community, and directly connects participants with opportunities, removing traditional barriers to access. Production Futures CEO, Hannah Eakins, explained: “For far too long, access to the production industries, which are actually suffering a skill-shortage, has been determined by knowing the ‘right’ person, going to the ‘right’ college or university, or just getting a lucky break. We want to consign those days to the past by removing the middlemen and the waiting rooms, and allowing fantastic new talent clear pathways into the many and varied roles available to them. This summer we are on a mission to work with more industry partners, promote more work and training opportunities, and ensure that emerging talent has direct access to the companies and careers that need them most.”
Eakins added: “Over the past 18 months Production Futures has seen a 170% increase in our reach to the next generation of production talent and we have now surpassed a hundred industry partners. That skills gap and shortage in our industry remains at a critical level, so we’re not standing still. Our existing industry partners, who are integral to the success of our movement, are already engaged with the campaign, supplying us with wide-ranging information about jobs, training schemes, placements, projects and more, so opportunities are just a click away for the next generation of talent. Naturally we want to expand the Summer Skills Series as far and wide as possible and we want every forward-thinking company to be part of it. We’re urging businesses in the wider industry who want direct access to a vast pool of potential talent, to share their opportunities with us so we can promote them directly to our highly-motivated community. If anyone wants to join our mission, we’d love to hear from them!”
