With nominations now open for its Breakthrough Talent Awards 2025, Production Futures has announced the addition of two new categories, which highlight the great work of the industry itself in supporting and developing emerging talent. Whilst the principal focus of the Awards remains on recognising the achievements of newcomers across the production industries and seeking to inspire future generations, Production Futures CEO Hannah Eakins is keen to shine a spotlight on those companies and organisations who are leading the way by promoting initiatives and pathways for newcomers to the production industries.
“The two brand new categories – ‘Industry Initiative Supporting Emerging Talent’ and ‘Organisation Championing Diversity and Inclusion’ reflect the importance of welcoming and supporting newcomers to the industry,” she explained. “Put simply, the future of live events, festivals, TV, film, broadcast, AV, touring, theatre, and corporate events, depends on creating safe, inclusive, and happy working environments for emerging talent – none of it thrives unless organisations open doors, create fair opportunities, and actively invest in the next generation.”
“These two awards celebrate the work of companies who are committed to effecting positive change – paying it forward for the benefit of the next generation by setting powerful examples of good industry practice. Nominations for the categories are invited from companies and individuals across the production industries via our website,” Eakins said.
Sponsored by Production Futures’ key industry partners, the Breakthrough Talent Awards now extend to twenty-three categories, reflecting the diversity of opportunity within the production industries. The Awards will be presented on November 27th at Production Park, Wakefield, at the organisation’s largest ON TOUR show to date.
