PAUL McCARTNEY IN TEL AVIV
October 2008
(Tel Aviv) - Sir Paul McCartney makes history with his first-ever concert in Israel, 43 years after The Beatles were banned from performing in the country.
Despite well-publicised terrorist threats and opposition from some parties to his presence at this celebration of Israel's 60th anniversary, McCartney's Friendship First concert was a peaceful event and yet another milestone in the ex-Beatle's record-breaking career.
This mini-documentary by TPi's Mark Cunningham details some of the background to the show design and contains exclusive on-site footage and interviews with sound engineers Pab Boothroyd and Jon Lewis, technician Miguel Lourtie of Meyer Sound, heads of crew from Kilim Electronics and Festival Novo Mesto, video director Paul Becher and McCartney's personal security officer Mark Hamilton.
