Anglo-French large format projection specialist ETC Image provides the equipment (hire or sales), plus creative and technical expertise to realise multi-media shows of all types — from the concept and design of all elements through to the programming and delivery of the show. This can be either as a complete turn-key solution or developed in collaboration with a client and their design team.

New to the company is its highly versatile proprietary control software, OnlyView. This deals practically and flexibly with all the major challenges of large format projection programming including complex masking and soft-edging of the images. ETC has a vast stock of the brightest Barco and Christie video projectors on the market, and also the more traditional PIGI film/slide projectors.

ETC has provided large format projection solutions for some of the highest profile global events including the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the OC for the 2007 Gulf World Cup in Abu Dhabi, and the OC for the more recent African Games in Algiers.

Projection is an interesting and different way of transforming a surface — be it a water screen or a building — and a powerful alternative tool for imparting information to the public. It can be either static or moving and is ideal for all types of storytelling, incorporating a building, a city or a person’s history.
