BRILLIANT STAGES
Staging www.brilliantstages.com
Established in 1980, Brilliant Stages is a globally-recognised leader in specialist stage set fabrication. It designs and builds lightweight stage sets based on its own custom extrusions and fast connection systems.
Working with the world’s leading designers, including Mark Fisher, Brilliant Stages’ motion control, hydraulic and mechanically moving systems have been at the core of some of the biggest touring shows ever produced, including the Rolling Stones, U2, Pink Floyd, Robbie Williams and Genesis.
October saw the completion of a two-month build for Take That’s new touring set, designed by Ray Winkler of the Mark Fisher Studio and Kim Gavin. The set comprises a main rolling stage with two technical bunkers which double as screamers, two 6.1m x 1.5m travellators, two access scissor lifts, a 12.2m diameter step-through projection fan that emerges from — and partitions — the stage, a 35m flown catwalk and a multi-hexagonal performance causeway.
The diverse nature of Brilliant’s client base has also led to smaller installations — in July, the company installed food conveyors for Yo Sushi. One of Brilliant’s current projects is for the Belinda King-commissioned Celtic Heartbeat set for Cunard’s new ship, the Queen Victoria.
Brilliant Stages also manufactures various forms of staging including the heavy duty DEK and lightweight DEKEX.
