Bosch Presents New Products From Dynacord And Electro-Voice

04 April 2010 17.03 BST

The team from Bosch Communications Systems presented their brands Dynacord and Electro-Voice together this year.

In response to numerous requests, Dynacord has developed the D 8A; the powered version of the popular D8 system from the D-Lite series. Equipped with a 2 x 400 watt Class D power amplifier, an electronic crossover and loudspeaker equalization, the system is suitable for a wide variety of applications. The D 8A is ideally suited to the creation of active 3-way high powered systems in combination with active subwoofers – whether in the live music, AV or fixed installation area.

The D 8A is equipped with a low-distortion Dynacord DND8200-8 neodymium chassis for the bass and midrange. The symmetrically radiating, constant directivity HF horn with its 90° x 90° nominal coverage pattern and CAD optimised integration into the baffle is equipped with the DH3 driver from Electro-Voice. Outstanding performance is achieved by very high sound pressure, a sonic image characterized by low distortion even at its extremes and a very high degree of intelligibility.

The DSP 600 is a network-capable digital sound system processor with two analogue inputs, two digital AES/EBU inputs and six analogue outputs offering audio and processing of the highest quality. The dual-core DSP topology employs 24-bit linear AD/DA converters and the processing is in 48-bit double-precision resolution. At >116 dB, the dynamic range of the DSP 600 is at the upper extreme of what is technically feasible – fTHD is less than 0.002%. With IIR filters and high-resolution 512-tap FIR filters, precise loudspeaker protection and a multi-stage delay concept, the DSP 600 sets new standards in the field of digital loudspeaker management. FIR-TUNE permits the use of Dynacord speaker settings with integrated crossover and FIR filter settings for the greatest possible linearisation of the magnitude and phase of the transfer function. Over IRIS-Net, any desired number of DSP 600 processors, together with other IRIS-Net capable devices, can be configured and operated swiftly and conveniently.

The configuration and control of the DSP 600 is handled either directly at the device or with the help of IRIS-Net via Ethernet and/or USB. An integrated 2-port Ethernet switch makes it possible to connect the device to a PC directly without having to rely on the use of an additional external router. Furthermore, the control signal can be passed directly from one device to the next in a simple daisy-chain arrangement.
DYNACORD PowerSub 112

The German specialist for amplifiers and loudspeakers has developed in the PowerSub 112 a system that, despite its mighty performance reaching right down to the deepest regions, is remarkably light and compact. In the PowerSub 212, Dynacord is presenting an extremely compact high-powered subwoofer. The device is equipped with two 12” loudspeakers and a 2 x 400-watt Class D amplifier. The integrated stereo crossover makes possible the creation of active 3-way systems with mono sub and active full-range cabinets.

DYNACORD D 11A

Boasting a 2 x 400W Class D power amplifier, an electronic crossover and loudspeaker equalisation, the D 11A is suitable for a wide variety of applications including the creation in combination with powered subwoofers of active three-way high-powered systems for applications such as live music, AV and fixed installation.

For the low and high frequency ranges 2 x 200W / RMS are available. The maximum overall output comes to 800 W IHF-A.
The Line input is implemented as an XLR/jack combo socket. Via the Line Thru XLR socket, the signal can be looped directly through to additional powered cabinets. The controllable Stereo-Aux channel with RCA/cinch sockets permits e.g. the direct connection of CD or MP3 players.
In addition, an XLR microphone input with a separate level control is available. By means of the XLR Master Out socket, the mix of Line, AUX and Mic inputs can be looped through to additional powered cabinets. For operation with powered subwoofers, a switchable low-cut filter is provided.

The D 11A is equipped with the DL 12 BFH low-distortion high-powered 12” chassis for the bass and midrange. The integration of the symmetrically radiating constant directivity HF horn, with its Electro-Voice DH3 driver and nominal coverage pattern of 90° x 90°, is CAD-optimised. High sound pressure levels, a sonic image that remains free from distortion even at the edges of its bandwidth, and high intelligibility are among D 11A’s outstanding audio characteristics.

Electro-Voice Dx46 FIR-Drive Sound System Processor

Electro-Voice has once again raised the bar for pro audio electronics design with the new Dx46 FIR-Drive Sound System Processor, premiering globally at this year’s Prolight + Sound expo in Frankfurt.
Extending the legacy of such legendary DSPs as the Dx34, Dx38 and NetMax N8000, the Dx46 combines ease of use and flexibility of control with the industry’s most advanced DSP technology: FIR-Drive.

FIR-Drive
Previous only available in EV’s N8000 system controllers and RCM-26 module-equipped Tour Grade series amplifiers, the FIR-Drive system employs state-of-the-art Finite Impulse Response filters and processing to provide linear phase performance for sonic clarity and improved pattern control beyond all other DSP and system drive packages.
Dx46 brings FIR-Drive performance to a new, more compact form factor, at a price point that makes it accessible for a wide range of portable and installed audio applications. The most powerful 1RU DSP unit available, it offers six channels of 512-tap, complex-phase FIR filters in addition to EV’s state-of-the-art PA Limiter and TEMP Limiter algorithms.

Connectivity
A USB interface offers convenient local connection while an Ethernet interface with an integrated switch is on hand for more advanced connectivity. Five GPI ports provide input for contact closures or other hardware interfaces.

IRIS-Net
The IRIS-Net software control platform allows complete integration of an EV sound system, including amplifiers, additional external controls and much more. Providing complete control, configuration and supervision through standard or customised interfaces, IRIS-Net allows the ultimate in flexibility for controlling what you want to control, how you want to control it.

Advanced DSP
Dx46 provides complete input processing, with graphic EQ, PEQ and delay, and a complete FIR-Drive-optimized output stage, including crossover, EQ and dynamics. It even provides specialised Array EQ and Array Delay blocks on each output.  Configuring and adjusting highly specialised arrayed, clustered or zoned systems has never been easier.

Key Features:
2 x 6 FIR-Drive loudspeaker system processor
Analog and AES/EBU inputs
