Tour Manager of the Year
Winner: Timm Cleasby
Famed as a one-time, multi-instrumentalist member of Onion Trump, the band formed by The Darkness’ touring crew (he was their monitor engineer), Timm has been much more focused on tour management over the past year or so with both the Arctic Monkeys — often involving juggling club gigs for 1,100 people one day and stadium shows for 55,000 the next — and lead singer Alex Turner’s spin-off band, The Last Shadow Puppets.
Timm started his career in 1990 as a Sheffield-based sound engineer in 1990, branching out into international touring in 1993 with local PA company Roadstar, working for bands such as Stone Temple Pilots, Ministry, Runrig, The Human League, Rollins Band, Skunk Anansie and Richard Hawley... and with Crown Of Thorns (supporting Bon Jovi in 1997), he was mixing stadium shows at the age of just 23.
Now working as a fully-blown tour manager, Timm also enjoys his sideline interests as a published photographer.
Runners up:
Andy Franks • Jo Withy • Andy Sweeney • Mike Darling • Henry McGroggan
