Can’t Hyde From Mojo's Success At Summer Gigs
Monday 18th July - 16.28pm
Mojo Barriers’ London UK office supplied the stage barriers for the Hyde Park concerts and festivals which took place from 22 June – 3 July.
The crowd barrier specialists worked closely with event organisers Live Nation and site manager Craig Becker, to provide their aluminium barrier system for a record nine shows in thirteen days. Gigs included two Kings of Leon nights, the three day Hard Rock Calling festival, an Arcade Fire gig and the three day Wireless Festival, featuring acts including the Black Eyed Peas and Pulp.
In line with the requirements of the changing headline acts each day, Mojo Barriers’ team were on hand throughout the thirteen-day period to adjust the layout to suit the act’s requirements. The Kings of Leon gigs required 596m of barrier, Hard Rock Calling 496m, Arcade Fire 412m and Wireless 493m.
Jim Gaffney, Mojo Barriers’ UK director, lead the project. He said: “This was a challenging project logistically as it required the team to change the site set up before every gig within tight timelines, and ensure that the correct amount of barrier was onsite at all times.”
Hannah Farnham, project manager at Live Nation said: “Mojo Barriers’ team was incredibly organised and worked tirelessly across the period to make sure that the needs of each individual concert was met.”
The series of shows was attended by nearly half a million guests, with crowds each night varying between 45,000 and 65,000 people.
