Have A Blast At The Backstage Academy

The Stage Pyrotechnics course will take place on Tuesday 5 July and there are currently a limited number of places remaining. Course reservations made before 30 June will receive a 10 per cent discount.
 
The course, which takes one full day, will give attendees an overview of different pyrotechnic devices, their uses and the relevant health and safety requirements.
 
There will be a number of live device demonstrations as well as lessons in series wiring, risk assessment and flame proofing.
 
The equipment and devices used, demonstrated and viewed during the course will include products from Le Maitre, Skyhigh, Theatrical Pyrotechnics, Wells and LunaTech.
 
As part of the afternoon session participants will be able to put their new skills to the test by setting up and igniting pyrotechnic devices in the safe, controlled surrounds of the studio.
 
Lincoln Parkhouse of Just FX will deliver the course in the LS-Live studio, which is on the same premises as The Backstage Academy. The studio, which is based in South Kirkby, Wakefield, is one of the largest purpose-built rehearsal facilities in Europe and has hosted some of the world’s biggest music stars, including Lady Gaga, Elbow, Kylie and Rihanna.
