First Music Production Show Meets With Acclaim

24 May 2011 - 14:34 GMT

The inaugural Music Production Show, held at Leeds Armouries between 13-14 May, was warmly received by exhibitors and visitors alike according to organisers UK Music Shows Ltd.

With around 1000 visitors attending over the weekend and the world’s best-known brands in the exhibition area, the show proved the appetite for an affordable event of this kind according to show manager Jason Hunt.

“We were delighted with the response to our first Music Production Show,” he says. “Feedback from exhibitors has been exceptional, with many pledging their support for shows in the future – and visitors were extremely positive about the weekend.

“It was a great first show; we would have loved visitor numbers to be slightly stronger on the Saturday, but exhibitors haven’t expressed a similar view to us, so maybe we’re being a little hard on ourselves. It was certainly a great foundation on which to build.”

Among those quick to praise the show were Audio-Technica senior UK marketing manager Harvey Roberts who said, “We were very pleased with the first Music Production Show, both in terms of the quality of exhibitors and the numbers of visitors during the weekend. The response to our audio and microphone seminar was excellent, reflecting the interest in the show’s educational content. Overall, it was an impressive first MPS and we look forward to being involved in future events.”

Focusrite’s Simon Halstead concurred, saying, “It was great to come to Leeds and experience such enthusiasm for music making. We hope to see more MPS events generating excitement around the industry in the future.”

UK Music Show’s next event is the Bristol Guitar Show on 25 September at Ashton Gate Stadium. More information from www.ukguitarshows.co.uk
