22 March 2011 - 09:55 GMT

Arena Group celebrate Cheltenham Festival’s centenary with the provision of over 5,280m² of pristine hospitality structures.

The event, which took place in March 2011, enjoyed four days of racing celebrations during the monumental anniversary. Guests were in the lap of luxury, enjoying the bespoke suites created by Arena. The design-led interiors and innovative temperature control systems ensured the right environment was captured during the temperamental weather conditions.

This latest venture came after a 27 year relationship between Arena and the Cheltenham Festival organisers ensured Arena were the best option. Through the provision of multi-storey structures, Arena were entrusted to supply a range of temporary structures for the 100th anniversary.

All three of the temporary provisions including a double deck Horizon structure (20x30m), a four story Arena Scene structure (10x27m) and a 15x100m glass-fronted double-deck allowed the hospitality suites to remain state-of-the-art and comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, providing uninterrupted views over the course.

The Arena Group has offered the festival continual developments and flexibility to their hospitality set up over the past 2 decades, reflecting advances in structure technology and varying demand. Ron Smith, Projects Director at Arena Structures, has been working with the Cheltenham Festival for the past 18 years and explains the history of their longstanding relationship:

“We first began working with the Festival in 1984, supplying our Arena Scene multi-storey hospitality boxes on the home straight of the racecourse. Even back then these were incredibly solid, withstanding even the bitterest of early year weather and providing a great hospitality environment, which is why they are still in use today. Over the years we have built a great working relationship with the organisers at Cheltenham and changed our offering to ensure we are able to provide a unique solution that best suits the Festival. It is a major landmark for any event to be able to celebrate their 100th Anniversary and we look forward to continuing to introduce new products and creative ideas long into the next century.”
