25 February 2011 - 12:11 GMT

Console specialist rental company grandPA has started 2011 with continuing their commitment to the new generation of MA lighting consoles with the purchase of an additional MA2 Lite console into rental stock.

The company specialises in bespoke control systems based around the ever popular grandMA consoles and is now convinced that the new generation of consoles - MA2 - are the way forward for many years to come.

Tim Routledge, partner in the company and regular user of the systems comments "we have been using our existing MA2 equipment in the retro MA1 mode for some time and now feel the time is right to purchase additional MA2 consoles and make the switch to the new software which has come on leaps and bounds and is offering fantastic speedy and reliable programming".

"The new hardware is rock solid and we have also invested in the network processors for the system also. We will continue to offer the original MA series for many years to come as that system is still very much present and heavily in demand".

Philip Norfolk, Sales Director MA UK has a strong relationship with grandPA and comments "“GrandPA has again decided to set the trend by investing in grandMA2 consoles. We are honoured by their trust in our products and delighted such a high profile user has chosen to our control system to take them forward again. MA Lighting is constantly striving to create ground breaking products for the entertainment control market and when companies like grandPA invest again it reassures us that we are doing the right thing with our products. Tim and his team can look forward to a great future with their grandMA2 desks!”

The company has been extremely busy already in 2011 and the grandPA's have been busy programming a major new touring circus in Europe, Gary Barlow's 40th Birthday Concert, the BAFTA's, the NME Awards as well as the current series of Lets Dance for Comic Relief on BBC1.

grandPA offers programming support, dry and wet hire of consoles as well as bespoke training for operators and programmers for show specific projects.
