Parklife Festival Expands For 2011 With Two Day Event
14 February 2011 - 16:50 GMT
Early bird tickets go on sale for the follow up to 2010's sold out event.
The team behind The Warehouse Project are proud to announce the return of Parklife Festival in 2011, this year doubling to a two-day event at Platt Fields Park, Manchester on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June. 2010’s Parklife sold out in a mere eight weeks and featured an amazing line up of electronic, indie and crossover artists including Friendly Fires, Magnetic Man, Kele, Simian Mobile Disco and many more. A limited number of early bird tickets go on sale Thursday 17th February and the first announcement for 2011’s line up will be made very soon.
Priced at £49.50 early bird weekend tickets to Parklife Festival 2011 will not be around for long given the speed at which 2010’s event sold out. A bargain price for the North of England’s freshest and most vibrant music festival, tickets are officially on sale from 9am, Thursday 17th February.
Parklife will herald the long awaited start of the summer in Manchester as thousand of revellers fill Platt Fields Park to enjoy six arenas (one more than in 2010) and a main stage over flowing with talent. The first of an exciting number of line up announcements due over the coming weeks will unveil an eclectic mix of artists, bands and DJs both
established and up and coming. Fans need only look to Parklife promoters’ other Manchester event, The Warehouse Project, for an idea of the huge talent the team have recently booked.
Parklife co-promoter Sam Kandel said “We had so much great feedback last year following the event. It appears everyone had an amazing time. The only feedback we got was that people wanted more so we decided to expand Parklife 2011 into a two day event.” Kandel adds; “One option was to increase the capacity of the event but we decided that we didn’t want to lose the intimacy and fun that was so evident in last year’s festival, so while the party will last twice as long, we will be keeping it at the same capacity.”
Tickets will be available from Ticketline (0161 832 111, www.ticketline.co.uk) and Skiddle (0844 884 29 20,
