Exclusive Automobile Presentation in front of the Chinese EXPO Pavilion
08 February 2011 - 14:10 GMT
On January 10, 2011, the Chinese pavilion "Oriental Crown" on the EXPO fair grounds in Shanghai was the scene of an impressive event, when the BMW Group presented their product range to about 2.000 invited guests in front of the spectacular scenery of the pavilion.
Lighting, video and audio technology were at their highest level, guaranteeing an ideal environment for the performances of popular Chinese artists, for example the singer Liao Changyong who is extremely popular in this huge nation, as well as Yu Qiang Dai and Mo Hualun.
Two event platforms provided a diversified program: One smaller scene was built up inside of the pavilion in the twelfth floor - normally, there are taking place film showings, but also presentations or high standard business events. For the purpose of the BMW event, the fixed sound system of the hall was completed by K&F monitors from type SCENA 15, permitting to the actors to hear themselves in best sound quality.
A much bigger open-air stage was located on the south side of the pavilion. Over here, line arrays from Kling&Freitag were used as sound system for the spectator's area : On the right and on the left side of the scene, floating formations of four SEQUENZA 10 N (for the remote area) and two SEQUENZA 10 W (for the close area) have been flown on each side. Over these hangs there were three suitable subwoofers from type SEQUENZA 10 B, and their basses reproduction was completed by two NOMOS XLC installed on the ground. All speakers were driven by K&F SystemRacks with ready-to-use configuration, the signal processing was done by integrated digital system controllers from type CD 44. The equipment was supplied by the Chinese K&F sales partner MYC Technology.
The FOH sound during the event was controlled by Shaogang Jin who had already assumed responsibilities during the opening and the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics 2008. Shaogang was enthusiastic about the audio components from Germany which he did not know before: "For me it was an absolute surprise how perfect the Kling&Freitag sound system worked under the hard weather conditions - although temperatures were below the freezing point and in spite of the violent wind, fortunately I could not detect any appreciable prejudice in the middle and high tone range. The very most speaker systems would not reach such a high quality performance under these circumstances!"
