The Ladies Go Green with Bandit!
2 November 2010 14:15 BST
Four industry leading female artist all led the push into Green lighting technology in 2010 with Bandit Lites as their lighting partner.
Each of these artist has a social conscious and chose to move toward a more environmentally friendly solution with LED technology. Each of these talented artists knows this first step is only a start, but is also a very important first move.
Melissa Ethridge first went green with Bandit 2 years ago, being one of the true pioneers. In 2010 tour manager Steve Girmant, lighting director David Hamilton and Melissa all requested for LED solutions that included GLP Impressions, GRNLite Moving Wash 3-120, and Pixel Range Pixilines.
Multi talented and long time environmentalist Jewel worked with lighting director Will Anglin and tour manager Sean Murray to become more eco friendly. To that end, they engaged a number of GRNLite PAR 3-36 fixtures along with their other equipment.
Wynonna and her tour manager Ken Craig challenged lighting director / production manager Keith Hoagland to come up with a great look while also working toward a green solution. Hoagland selected GRNLite PAR 3-36’s and GRNLite Batten 3- 54’s as the heart of his system. These fixtures provided a lot of horsepower, saturate stages and no heat what so ever. Mission accomplished.
Country superstar Miranda Lambert also moved into the Green Age in 2010 as her lighting designer Chris Lisle worked with the lighting director Aaron Luke to deliver a show equal to the talent and energy of Ms. Lambert. Chauvet Colorado Batten 72’s, Chroma Q Chroma Banks and GRNLite PARs 3-36s were at the center of the look, complimented by various traditional sources. The transformation has begun to take place for Miranda, and will continue under the watchful eye of tour manager Jordan Powell, production manager Chris Newsom and Lisle.
Bandit VP Michael Golden handles Wynonna and Miranda, while Business Development Manager Brent Barrett handles Jewel and Melissa.
These four uniquely talented women have taken the reigns individually on the move into the newest generation of lighting technology. It is the vision of these artists and their teams that will help us all “do the right thing” in the future, and we applaud their courage.
