25 October 2010 12:25 BST

The 2010 Mark Knopfler Get Lucky World Tour continued a long relationship between Bandit Lites and the award-winning superstar.

Designer Simon Tutchener once again called on Bandit UK CE Lester Cobrin to handle the global needs for Knopfler and his entourage. On this jaunt around the globe, the show was as brilliant as ever, with Knopfler pulling hit after hit from a lengthy career of rock classics. Tour manager Tim Hook and production manager Kevin Hopgood ran the well-oiled machine as it jetted around the world. Manager Paul Crockford again assembled a professional team to guide the show each day.

Tutchener create his always beautiful visual art utilizing MAC 2000 Profiles, MAC 2000 Spots, Lycian 1290 FOH Spots, ETC Source 4’s, a 40 x 30 LED Star Cloth, truss, motors, all controlled by a Grand MA console with an MA Lite as back up. New this time out, and a center price to Tutcheners concept is the Robe DigitalSpots 7000DT’s. These brilliant video / lighting machines provided exactly the creative solution Tutchener was looking for. The show moves through a progression of digital images, real images and live video from onstage cameras to provide limitless looks courtesy of the Robe units. Tutchener was also able to use the 7000’s as pure lighting sources at various points in the show, making these fixtures the most stunning and most versatile part of the show. Technician Ewan Cameron traveled world wide with Tutchener as his 7000 tech.

A Mark Knopfler show is two hours of non-stop hits and an event that is not to be missed. Mark is a musicians’ musicians and his fellow entertainers always turn up to see his show. The visuals created by Tutchener in conjunction with the music from Mark make this a very ethereal evening. They don’t make them like this anymore!
