Master Audio Launches Xcellence X-210 Line Array

09 August 2010 16.41 BST

Spanish based Master Audio has announced the new Xcellence X-210 line array for the installation and live music sectors.

In 2004 Master Audio introduced its first line array system, the MA210D, setting a reference in the market thanks to its design and useability. Master Audio wanted to create a product within the Xcellence Series that would respond to any challenge, with an exceptional quality standard in every detail. The new X210 System combines this successful philosophy with the latest technical developments from Master Audio R&D, offering a scalable, flexible and smart solution for all kind of high-performance applications.

With its compact design, it is ideal for all kind of venues: discos, concert halls, houses of worship, stadiums and open air live events (up to 5,000 people with a 6-8 unit configuration by column), thanks to its 120º nominal horizontal coverage.

The accurate acoustic design guarantees uniform coverage and long distance high frequency reproduction due to the proprietary-designed planar waveguide.

It offers a smart rigging system for quick and easy setup that allows several flying and stacking options.

It also has built-in Digital Signal Processing with factory presets adjustable through a friendly software interface: tune the system to the needs of every event by changing fast and easily the main audio parameters like parametric EQ, gain, limiter threshold, delay and phase, several optimised factory presets, up to 16 user presets. These parameters can be adjusted through PC via Ethernet (RJ-45 or Wi-Fi) with the specific software DSPStudio that allows checking the status of the whole system at one glance to the computer’s screen in real time.

The system is fully protected against overvoltage at the mains (>250V up to 400V).  It also incorporates standby mode, which reduces the power consumption of the system while it is not being used.

Acoustical simulation can be made through EASE Focus software that allows predicting the acoustical response and mechanical setup allowing the user to plan the installation ahead of arrival.

The cabinets have an elegant finish with black paint highly resistant to humidity and hits during transport and touring.

The system is an auto-amplified solution in tandem. One X210A active unit provides the amplification and DSP control and feeds one X210P passive slave unit. This pair offers a power of 3,000W with third-generation class D amplification. Each unit delivers 134 dB SPL in musical program (one pair 140 dB). Each unit has two 10” Neodymium woofers and three 1” Neodymium drivers, as well as Master Audio’s exclusively designed planar waveguide.

The system offers two options for bass reinforcement. The X215W active subwoofer with two 15” long excursion woofers delivers 2,400W. It has a compact format and surprising low-frequency response, thanks to its triple chamber acoustic design, and combines perfectly with the system’s X210A/P line array, allowing flying and stacking configurations without any additional hardware. The built-in DSP includes presets for cardioid configuration.

The X218W active subwoofer is the combination of two 18” long excursion woofers with extremely reinforced cabinet and third-generation 2,400W class D with DSP, presets, cardioid configuration and Ethernet connectivity, which makes it one of the most advanced and powerful subwoofers of the market.
