Dirty Riggers At Gradav
06 August 2010 14.13 BST
Gradav Hire and Sales is the UK’s newest stockist of Le Mark’s Dirty Rigger Gloves and Accessories Range. Gradav's Graham Threader said: "We have been surprised at the genuine interest shown in the new Dirty Rigger gloves and accessories range and are delighted at the level of sales.
"Feedback has been positive, with all those that we have spoken to very happy to find gloves that looked so well suited to their needs, turned out to so good in practice."
Gradav, which has been in business for 40 years, originally undertook live recordings, then moved into live sound and eventually began to supply stage lighting. All of these involved rigging and operating, with the move into dry hire when the recording equipment was sacrificed to buy more lights. At some point during the 1980s Gradav ceased to rig and operate and concentrated on ‘dry’ hire.
Today it has extensive stocks of moving lights and LED fixtures complimented by all the simple lighting that will always be needed. Sound is not neglected, and it is waiting for the release of radio microphone equipment in the new frequencies for a splurge of investment. Staging hire is a regular part of their workload, as is Tour Guide, a radio system for guided tours (you wouldn’t have guessed) and has extensive use where simultaneous translation is required.
