First Festival Food Success For Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts
07 July 2010 16.47 BST
Star chef Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts catering team made its debut into the festival food market this weekend at Cornbury Festival in the UK, bringing Jamie’s passion for fresh, simple, tasty food to a festival audience for the first time since the company’s launch in May.
The Fabulous Feasts menu, designed specifically to suit the family-oriented Oxfordshire audience, was freshly prepared on site from its newly built bespoke temporary catering facility.
Hugh Phillimore, director of Cornbury Festival, commented: “Cornbury is thrilled to welcome Jamie’s Fabulous Feasts to their first summer festival. Cornbury is famous for its family audience, its great music and wide range of international food; so it’s a perfect fit for Jamie’s new events catering company. The Fabulous Feasts team have shown that it is possible to bring fresh, tasty, responsibly sourced food to the public at large scale events like this one. Truly fabulous!”
In glorious sunshine, the 12,000-strong crowd enjoyed a menu that included delicious antipasti boxes, fresh pasta dishes and a range of tasty desserts, between performances from an eclectic line-up which included David Gray, the Noisettes, The Feeling and Jackson Browne.
Bringing delectable, freshly made food to the festival market, Jamie has invested in a specially designed temporary kitchen and serving facility, equipped with brand new fresh pasta equipment. The unit provided enough space for Fabulous Feasts’ experienced event chefs to prepare a mouth-watering menu designed to suit the festival audience.
While the Cornbury crowds enjoyed Fabulous Feasts’ festival menu in Oxfordshire, the corporate catering team catered for over 200 guests in the hospitality area of a high profile annual sporting event, and continued preparations to feed 2,200 people over three days at a business conference taking place in London later this week.
This flexibility in food offer is one of the keys to Fabulous Feasts’ success, as Glen explained: “Having three separate branches of Fabulous Feasts allows us to deliver a great range of food to a client such as Cornbury Festival. Our public concession offer brings quickly prepared, simple, high quality food to the masses at a reasonable price, and is a great alternative to traditional festival catering. Our corporate and private offers are equally unwavering on quality, but offer a completely different type of food suited to the requirements of VIP catering.”
