One of the leading full service providers for audio, video and stage equipment in Malaysia, SES Sound Electronic Service SDN BHD, has adopted a huge K.M.E. PANO line array system for a number of events. The configuration consists of line source units QLs 906, down fill units QL 1215s, low mid extensions QLM 115s and cardioid subs QCB 318s plus controlling.

SES Sound is equipping a lot of important industry events. One is the annual Anugerah Industry Muzik which was held for the 17th time this year. The AIM is the most important music award in Malaysia and can be compared with the Grammy. The event, presented by Afdlin Shauki and Adibah Noor, took place at Putra World Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur on May 2 2010. The centre is situated in the heart of KL and offers multi-purpose facilities with modern audio-visual infrastructure.

The organisers requested a system that could be integrated optically very inconspicuously into the stage but with an excellent live sound as the event was broadcasted live on TV station Ntv7.
By a simulation with the software PANO Focus, the quantity and angeling of the elements was calculated to achieve a balanced reproduction from the first row to the last and also on the galleries in the Merdeka Hall with a size of 2.000 sqm and 3,000 seats.
From the simulation resulted a system combination of two 16 line source units QL 906 plus two 4 cardioid subs QCB 318 delivering a cardioid dispersion with an excellent front-to-back damping. The system was driven by Yamaha amps T4n and T5n.

Alwin Koh, sound engineer of the event, was very satisfied with the system: “The K.M.E. PANO is very clear, dynamic and undistorted about the whole frequency range in both vertical and horizontal dispersion. For AIM we could waive a nearfill system which means less set-up work. The PANO Focus simulation software is very comfortable and delivers exact, reliable results also for special locations like the Merdeka hall.”
Mr. S.T. Ho, managing director of SES was pleased to have such a flexible, easy-to-set-up system with an excellent, powerful sound and he is looking forward to future events equipped with the K.M.E. line array PANO.
