KV2 Audio Launches New Passive Range

2010 has seen the release of KV2 Audio’s very first range of passive loudspeakers allowing users to utilise third party amplification for the very first time.

In accepting the need to introduce a passive range of cabinets the design team knew that just another passive box would not produce the quality its dealers and end users had come to expect of KV2. After several months of R&D the answer came in a revolutionary analogue delay line that allows perfect time and phase alignment of the components within the box but without the use of active electronics.  The end result is a range of three passive speakers with superb flat response, high output and consistent coverage.

Applications include AV and hire for corporate events, high quality speech reproduction, music playback for installation or live use and studio monitors. ESD is also commonly utilised as peripheral or Infill sound alongside our larger ES or VHD systems for installations.

ESD6
The ESD6 is a very high quality compact loudspeaker producing a 2-way full-range solution with output that defies its size. With amazing clarity for speech and musical reproduction, the ESD6 is perfect for discreet installations and audiovisual presentations where sound quality is paramount but size also matters. Equally at home as a high end studio monitoring solution the ESD6 features state of the art components including our NVPD compression driver, Trans-Coil 6” woofer and revolutionary new passive delay line.


ESD12
The ESD12 is a 2-way, passive 12” full-range loudspeaker. The ESD12 features a revolutionary passive delay line which, along with the same 3” NVPD large format compression driver found in our flagship VHD products, makes the ESD12 one of the most balanced, phase coherent and accurate compact, 2-way passive boxes available on the market today.

ESD12M
The ESD12M is a low profile 2-way, passive 12” full-range monitoring solution. The ESD12M features a revolutionary passive delay line and the same 3” NVPD large format compression driver found in our flagship VHD products. Designed to withstand the rigours of live performance the ESD12M features a sturdy steel grill, a specially designed acoustic fabric protecting the compression driver from spillages and a “vocal-boost” switch to enhance critical vocal frequencies, all housed in a professional Baltic birch wedge shaped cabinet with a protective Polymer coating. Available in left and right configurations, the ESD12M is truely one of the most impressive monitoring solutions on the market today.

ESP 4000
The ESP 4000 is an ultra high definition four channel rack mountable power amplifier from KV2 Audio, specifically designed for optimised performance with ESD loudspeakers, as well as with other passive systems.

For the ESP 4000 all electronic circuit boards are first mounted on individual aluminium heat sinks, then on a secondary, internally sealed chassis, this leaves only the heat sink fins exposed. Two seperate power supplies ensure increased reliability and continuous delivery of full power. Two shock mounted fans move air across the fins but never directly across the electronic components. This minimizes maintenance cycles and improves the components lifespan and reliability. The ESP 4000 is housed in a professional 4U road rugged steel metal case with aluminium handles and evenly distributed weight.
